	<h2>Distribution-specific notes</h2>
	<h3>Why use Ubuntu</h3>
	<p>Ubuntu (<a href="http://www.ubuntulinux.org">http://www.ubuntulinux.org</a>) is Debian made easy. It&#8217;s free (as in speech and in beer) and backed by Canonical Ltd., a company<br />
providing professional support for Linux. To my mind, one of the most important advantages regarding Ubuntu is focus:</p>
	<ul>
	<li>on one tool per task (e.g. Evolution / Firefox / GAIM)</li>
	<li>on ease of use</li>
	<li>on desktop operation.</li>
	</ul>
	<h3>Obtaining Ubuntu</h3>
	<p>Just get the installation-image from http://source.rfc822.org/pub/mirror/releases.ubuntu.com/5.04/hoary-preview-install-i386.iso.</p>
	<h2>Setting up additional features for Ubuntu</h2>
	<h3>Setting up the Synaptic touchpad</h3>
	<p>Just modify your /etc/X11/xorg.conf to match the following:</p>
	<pre>
Section \"InputDevice\"

        Identifier      \"Synaptics Touchpad\"
        Driver           \"synaptics\"
        Option          \"SendCoreEvents\"  \"true\"
        Option          \"Device\"          \"/dev/psaux\"
        Option          \"Protocol\"        \"auto-dev\"
        Option          \"LeftEdge\"        \"1700\"
        Option          \"RightEdge\"       \"5300\"
        Option          \"TopEdge\"         \"1700\"
        Option          \"BottomEdge\"      \"4200\"
        Option          \"FingerLow\"       \"25\"
        Option          \"FingerHigh\"      \"30\"
        Option          \"MaxTapTime\"      \"180\"
        Option          \"MaxTapMove\"      \"220\"
        Option          \"VertScrollDelta\" \"100\"
        Option          \"MinSpeed\"        \"0.06\"
        Option          \"MaxSpeed\"        \"0.12\"
        Option          \"AccelFactor\"     \"0.0010\"
